Is Hollywood more important than Bollywood?

Film producers face the greatest challenge: how to get their movie noticed by the audience.

Problem is that many movies are competing for people's money and time. If you don't stand out, your chances of being seen are slim.

What makes a movie a success? What makes an actor famous? Or a director? Talent is not enough. It also requires luck. Even if you have the most talented actors in the world they won't be able to make it work if they write bad scripts.

When it comes to movies, there are two main types. There are big-budget blockbusters as well as small independent productions. Blockbuster movies are expensive to produce and distribute. These movies are often made by large studios that want their films to reach as many people as possible. But these big-budget films tend to appeal mainly to older audiences.

Independent films are generally smaller-scale productions that may be financed by individuals or groups of investors. These films usually target specific markets and appeal to specific tastes. These films are typically less expensive to produce and sell. However, this doesn't mean that they're always cheaper to watch. Many indie films can be difficult to find.

So, the question is, do we need both kinds of films? Are we going to need both big blockbuster movies or small independent films? Hollywood is bigger than Bollywood, according to me. Hollywood produces nearly twice as many movies annually as India.

Why don't more filmmakers use crowdfunding sites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo?

Crowdfunding sites can be great as they let you reach out to potential investors.

Many filmmakers aren't qualified to ask money. They feel that they need someone else to vouch for them.

They don't believe anyone should invest in them, as they have not proven their worth yet.

Instead, they spend months working on their project, hoping someone will eventually notice.

They realize that they did not prepare well when they launch their campaign.

So instead of getting thousands of dollars, they end up with just a handful of donations.

Why are so few independent films ever distributed?

Most indie filmmakers assume that their films will get picked up by distributors.

Because the film is loved by the public, they believe distributors will be interested in it.

This is not often the case. Distributors often profit from independent filmmakers.

They use tactics such as delaying a film's release date until after awards season has ended.

They also delay the release date for a low-budget film until the summer blockbuster movie season has begun.

Distributors will also attempt to keep movies away from viewers until they have spent hundreds of dollars on popcorn, tickets, or candy.

They don't want these profits to be lost.
